About our program

Facts about Books and Bytes:
  • Why Mo? One of our favorite books, Don't Let The Pigeon Drive the Bus, is written by beloved author Mo Willems. This name just seemed like the perfect name for our bus! We hope you agree!
  • Where is Mo? Mo is parked for the summer, but we will be so excited to load Mo full of books and show off his new interior! What? That's right, Castleberry ISD is thankful to Boy Scout, Jackson Romo, for his project plans and his Eagle Scout project. Mo has some brand new seating and a cool booth space that will be ready to reveal to our community as soon as we can safely open up the bus. In the meantime, did you pick up some books and activity packs at our Grab & Go Library? Stay tuned for more locations and dates.
  • Who creates the ideas and activities for Books and Bytes?
    • Heather Lamb, District Lead Librarian, Castleberry High School Teacher Librarian
    • Cassie Janda, Castleberry Elementary Teacher Librarian
    • Jackie Senerchia, Joy James Elementary Teacher Librarian
Reminders:
  • We love reading! Mo is always on the lookout for grants and donations! Literacy is one of our missions and goals. We are always looking for opportunities to build home libraries and putting books in our students hands!
